Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, who had been married to Queen Elizabeth for 73 years passed away at Windsor Castle this morning. The sad news of Prince Phillip's demise was announced on the official Twitter page of The Royal Family this afternoon.
Sharing the news with deep sorrow, the page wrote, "It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle."

Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, was admitted to the private King Edward VII’s Hospital for an unidentified infection. After spending nearly a fortnight their, the 99-year-old Prince Philip was transferred to St Bartholomew’s Hospital also known as Bart’s for continued treatment. The Queen’s husband was first admitted on February 16 and was shifted on March 1.
