We’ve decided to turn the page and move on from our marriage: Armie Hammer and Elizabeth Chambers been 'doing their own thing' before separation announcement

Actor Armie Hammer and wife Elizabeth Chambers are splitting up after ten years of marriage and thirteen years togetherness. They announced their separation and 'next chapter in life' through a post on Instagram. The couple shares a 5-year-old daughter, Harper, and a 3-year-old son, Ford. They exchanged vows in May 2010. Hammer and Chambers said that as they enter into this next chapter that their children and relationship as co-parents will remain a priority. They asked for "privacy, compassion and love during this time".

Sharing a throwback picture, they wrote, "Thirteen years as best friends, soulmates, partners and then parents. It has been an incredible journey, but together, we’ve decided to turn the page and move on from our marriage. As we enter into this next chapter, our children and relationship as co-parents and dear friends will remain our priority. We understand this news lends itself to public dialogue, but in the interest of our children and our family, we’re asking for privacy, compassion and love during this time."

A source told a US celebrity magazine on Sunday that the breakup had been a long time coming. "They have been having trouble in their marriage for quite a while and each doing their own thing," the outlet's source shared.

The couple, who have been quarantining in the Cayman Islands with their two children, are said to be focusing on the well-being of daughter Harper, five, and son Ford, three. "Right now, their biggest concern is their children and how this change will impact them. Their children are their top priority and always will be," another insider told.

The insider added, "The split is amicable and they will work through this difficult time with love and respect."
