‘I was so far away from ever thinking it was a realistic prospect’, says Robert Pattinson on playing Batman

Robert Pattinson has been roped in to play the iconic DC superhero Batman in new series of films. He will be playing a much younger Batman as compared to what of Christian Bale, Michael Keaton, George Clooney and Ben Affleck played. Matt Reeves who is directing the film received a mixed response on Pattinson’s inclusion as the Caped Crusader from the DC fans. However, many believe that the role is right up Pattinson’s sleeves including Christian Bale and Kristen Stewart.

While talking to an international portal, Pattinson expressed his reaction on how he feels taking on the role of the most loved and popular superhero. He said that he still can’t believe that he got the job. He said, “It’s kind of insane. I was so far away from ever thinking it was a realistic prospect. I literally do not understand how I’ve got it, at all.”

Pattinson had earlier spoken out about the supposed backlash he received for being cast as the new Batman and he humbly replied, “To be honest, it was less vitriolic than I was expecting. It’s much more fun when you’re an underdog. There’s no expectation of you."

The Batman will also star Jonah Hill as the main antagonist and Jeffrey Wright is in talks to play Commissioner James Gordon in the film. The film is slated to release on June 25, 2021.
