The Cannes International Film Festival witnessed the most glamorous stars ace their fashion game as they walk the prestigious red carpet. In her second year in a row, it seemed our Indian beauty Deepika Padukone was on a mission to make your jaws drop by putting her best foot forward at Cannes Film Festival this year. Her sartorial statement in the Utopian French town is making all the right noise.
Deepika kicked off the first day by keeping it cool and casual in a white tee and denim, it made us wonder if the Padmaavat actress is trying to play safe. But she proved us wrong when she slipped into in a sheer white dress by Zuhair Murad and had everyone’s tongues wagging. On the second day too, Deepika again made a simple white tee and denim look fabulous but soon after stunned us by opting for a violet pantsuit with a full sleeved purple blazer and bell bottom pants.
DP also did a ‘Rihanna’ by choosing a gold dress by Alberta Ferretti that made her look anything but sensual. She rounded off her stint at Cannes this year by attending the Chopard party in an all-black attire from Marcell Von Berlin.
As we give brownie points to her stylist Shaleena Nathani, let’s decode Deepika’s looks at Cannes this year:
Cool and Casual
The leggy lass kicked off her Cannes journey this year as L’oreal ambassador with a bang by keeping it casual and chic. Wearing a white top with a knot tied on one side, she paired it with light blue denim, nude stilettos and big round sunglasses. With her loose wavy hair complementing the whole look, DP nailed the casual attire and how.
For her second look, she chose Tome NYC separates in bright-colored stripes, red Louboutin shoes with earrings by Viange Vintage and rings by Suhani Parekh’s label Misho.
For her third look of the day, Deepika was seen in a flowy patterned dress in pastel pink and black by Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, She completed her look with Alberta Ferretti shoes, L’Oreal makeup, and statement earrings while a high ponytail rounded off her look.
Vision in White
For her first walk at the red carpet, Deepika chose a sheer white dress by Zuhair Murad. With her hair styled in beachy waves which were swept to the side and minimalist makeup, she paired her look with jewellery from Lorraine Schwartz and Nicholas Kirkwood heels.
Changing out of the couture, Deepika ended her day by slipping into an easy breezy caped maxi dress by Moniquel Huillier, with a pop of colour on her lips. Her loose tresses complemented her getup.
Rocking bell-bottoms like a pro
Deepika started her second day by opting for a simple white tee by Anthony Thomas Melillo and flared bell bottoms by Flare. She paired her look with stiped shoes by Roger Vivier. Her make-up was done by Sandhya Shekar with hair parted in the middle by Gabriel Georgiou.
Deepika next opted for a violet pantsuit by MAO which comprised a full sleeved purple blazer and bell bottom pants, Deepika teamed it with haunting dark eyes and sleek side-parted hair. Donning the pantone colour of the year, she looked absolutely stunning.
Deepika took her fashion game up by several notches and got dressed in a gold dress by Alberta Ferretti from their Fall Winter 2018 collection. Her hair was done in loose locks, with minimalistic but dramatic eye makeup and a bold red pout to break the monotony of the ensemble.
On her second red carpet appearance, Deepika slipped into an Ashi Studio creation. The actress chose a frilled number, exuding the princess charm in pink. Her hair was done in a high, finished bun and dark, smoky eyes lent the entire look a dramatic touch. A clean winner!
Wearing a black cape dress with a plunging neckline by Marcell Von Berlin at the Chopard party held last night, Deepika completed her look with embellished earrings from Chopard and Louboutin shoes. Her smokey eyes and nude makeup with her hair tied in a high bun made her look classy yet sexy.
Well, Deepika certainly managed to cast an everlasting spell with her fashion outings this year at Cannes. For now, we take a bow!
