For the first time ever, Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan have teamed up for Siddharth Anand's aerial action thriller titled Fighter. The film also stars Anil Kapoor. It is expected to go on floors in the first quarter of 2022.
Fighter was scheduled to release in theatres on Republic Day weekend in 2023. However, the film has been pushed to September 28, 2023. The new release date was announced on social media on Thursday.
Fighter, one of the much-awaited films, has averted a clash with Shah Rukh Khan, John Abraham and Deepika's Pathaan which will release on January 25, 2023. John's Tehran has also locked Republic Day 2023 weekend. Trade sources assume Tehran will also get a new release date to avoid a clash with Pathaan.
As per PeepingMoon sources, Fighter will see Hrithik playing the role of an Air Force pilot for the first time. While Deepika's character details have not been revealed yet, she is believed to be not just a romantic partner opposite Hrithik.
