Sidharth Malhotra-Kiara Advani's Shershaah to release in theatres on July 2, 2021

After a major setback due to the COVID-19 lockdown, the Hindi film industry is gearing to be back on the track. Now, as theatres are operating at 100% capacity, production houses are announcing their slates for the year. Today, Karan Johar confirmed that his film, Shershaah, will hit the silver screens on July 2, 2021. The film stars Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani in the lead. Sidharth plays the role of Captain Vikram Batra.

"The larger than life untold true story of Captain Vikram Batra (PVC) is ready to be unravelled on the big screens. We’re honoured to be showing this journey - #Shershaah in cinemas on 2nd July, 2021, starring Sidharth Malhotra & Kiara Advani. Directed by Vishnu Varadhan. Shershaah is directed by Vishnuvardhan, written by Sandeep Srivastava and produced by Karan under his banner of Dharma Productions. The film pays tribute to late captain Vikram Batra, an Indian Army officer who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery during the 1999 Kargil war. Kargil Vijay Diwas is named after him and the success of Operation Vijay under which, India successfully took charge of high outposts on July 26, 1999, which had been lost to Pakistani intruders during the Kargil war.

Shershaah was scheduled to release on July 3, 2020.
