'Getting treated for an infection, nothing dramatic,' says Rishi Kapoor addressing reports of his hospitalisation

The absence of Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt from the mehendi ceremony of Armaan Jain held on Saturday raised several eyeballs. The Kapoors who are closely related to the Jain family as Rishi's sister Rima is Armaan's and Aadar Jain's mother. Soon after, reports of the Bobby actor's hospitalisation in Delhi did the rounds and suggested that Ranbir along with his girlfriend Alia travelled to the Capital to be with his father. Addressing the buzz, Rishi, in an interview with a media agency, told that he is being treated for an infection, probably due to Delhi's poor air quality. The veteran actor was in Delhi to attend his sister Ritu Nanda's last rites and post that, he began the schedule of Sharmaji Namkeen in the same city.

“I have had an infection which am getting treated. Nothing dramatic. Pollution got me I guess,” Rishi told.

For those unversed, Rishi and Neetu were in New York City in September 2018 for the former's cancer treatment. Amidst several speculations, the Kapoors maintained silence but it was in April 2019 that the nation got to know about Rishi's illness. At that time, he was pronounced cancer-free. Workwise, the actor was seen in The Body with Emraan Hashmi. He will star in Sharmaji Namkeen with Juhi Chawla and with Deepika Padukone in the Hindi adaptation of The Intern.
