'Saw some failures in the beginning of my career, but I waited patiently,' says Kartik Aaryan on tasting success after a tough phase

There ain't a doubt that Kartik Aaryan is one of the most talented actors of the current generation in Bollywood. The actor, with a perfect blend of good looks and natural acting skills, has rightfully become the crush of the nation by wowing the audience with back to back good films. Kartik is now one of the stars with whom filmmakers are excited to work with. An engineer who turned to become an actor, Kartik is currently flooded with projects and has been giving his competitors a run for their money. Having spent nearly eight years in the industry, the Kaanchi star, during an interview with a leading daily, told that before tasting success, he has been through a phase of failure and dealt with it patiently. Crediting Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety as the gamechanger, Kartik said Luka Chuppi gave the validation of him being a commercial actor.

“I saw some failures in the beginning of my career, but I waited patiently, trying to make the most of what I had in terms of opportunities. Yes, it all started with Sonu but the main change came after Luka Chuppi’s success which gave me the validation of a commercial actor," Kartik told during the interview.

Kartik, who is having a dual release this year that is Luka Chuppi and now, Pati Patni Aur Woh, gushed that it is a big deal for him. He added that every actor dreams of such moments and he personally had to wait for a really long time to reach this stage. Considering himself to be a newcomer despite being around for almost seven-eight years, Kartik said it is because he has achieved success recently.

“It’s a big deal for me. Every actor lives for such moments. I have genuinely waited for a long time to reach here, this point where I am getting opportunities and receiving scripts to choose from. Talking about his role in Pati, Patni Aur Woh, which is the remake of B R Chopra's 1978 released film by the same name, Kartik said, for the portrayal of Chintu Tyagi, he didn't watch the original one. Adding that the film is a fresh take on relationships, he wanted to keep the new character different from the previous one.

“But I haven’t watched it after signing the film as I didn’t want to develop preconceived notions about the story or my character I wanted Chintu Tyagi (his character) to be different, both in his traits and his look. Also, while the essence remains the same as the original, ours is a completely new film with a modern take on relationships," Kartik concluded.

Workwise, Kartik is gearing up for the release of Pati, Patni Aur Woh, co-starring Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar. The film is directed by Mudassar Aziz and produced by Juno Chopra, T-Series and B.R Films. It is scheduled to release on December 6, 2019. Apart from that, he will star Love Aaj Kal's sequel with Sara Ali Khan and also in Dostana 2 with Janhvi Kapoor and Lakshya. Kartik will feature in the lead role in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 with Kiara Advani and Tabu.
