Alia Bhatt clears the air about her supposed ‘guest appearance’ in SS Rajamouli’s film ‘RRR’

Alia Bhatt might have missed a lucrative opportunity of starring opposite Salman Khan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Inshallah since the film has got shelved but that has not deterred the actress from being gung ho about making her Tamil debut with director SS Rajamouli’s big-budget film RRR. The period drama brings Ram Charan, Jr.NTR, Ajay Devgn and Emma Roberts in significant roles. However, it is reported that Alia’s role in the film is more of a guest appearance.

A leading daily reported that she will appear in a few scenes and a song. Presumably, RRR is rumoured to cater to Ram Charan’s and Jr.NTR’s character and will not have meaty roles for its female actors. However, Alia refuted all such rumours and said, “After I was launched by Karan Johar I had two dream directors on my wish list. Sanjay Leela Bhansali and S S Rajamouli. I don't care about the length of my role in RRR. Just working with him is enough. I've taken lessons in Telugu to do this film. Can't say I speak the beautiful language like a native. But I am trying."

Alia is supposedly paired opposite Ram Charan’s character Alluri Seetharama Raja. The actress will soon start shooting for the film and will join the cast and crew in September in Hyderabad. RRR is mounted on a grand scale on a huge budget of Rs 350-Rs 400 crore. It is expected to hit theatres on July 30, 2020.
