Akshay Kumar is back with yet another exciting film to his kitty. The actor, currently gearing up for the space drama Mission Mangal, made an announcement through this Instagram account regarding a film with Sajid Nadiadwala. The film, titled Bachchan Pandey, was announced along with Akshay's first look from it. Well, the name of this venture does seem similar to Akshay's character's name in Yash Raj Films' 2008 release Tashan co-starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan. Whether Akshay's character will draw some references from the one in Tashan, only further updates can inform.
Akshay, on Instagram, on Friday, shared the look and wrote, "Coming on Christmas 2020! In & As #BachchanPandey In #SajidNadiadwala’s Next, directed by @farhadsamji". In the picture, we can see Akshay sport showcase his chiseled abs and toned muscles, oh dear, can you actually believe he is in his 50s now? Speaking of his look, it seems his character sketch draws some reference from South Indian style of dressing as we can see him wearing a black lungi, gold chains and a generous amount of teeka on his forehead, which is commonly applied by men down South. Well, this has got us excited for more new developments on Bachchan Pandey.
Bachchan Pandey is produced by Sajid along with his wife Warda Khan Nadiadwala. The film is directed by Farhad Samji with whom Akshay has shot for the fourth installment of Housefull series, which will release on Diwali this year. Although the female lead opposite Akshay is yet to be announced.
Apart from Bachchan Pandey, Akshay will star in Mission Mangal, Housefull 4, Sooryavanshi, Laxmmi Bomb and Good News in the next few months.
