Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Duut had starred in the original 1991 film Sadak, a romantic thriller, which revolved around a young man who falls in love with a sex worker. Now Sadak 2, which will see Mahesh Bhatt back in the director's chair after almost 20 years, features Pooja and Sanjay apart from Aditya Roy Kapur and Mahesh's daughter Alia Bhatt. It was earlier scheduled to hit the screens on March 25, 2020 but the announcement of its new release date, which is July 10, 2020, was made on Monday by the makers on social media.
Post the announcement, we now hear that Sanjay will be seen shaking a leg in a dance number in much-awaited film. A source close to the development of the film informed a leading daily, “A few days shoot that is happening at Mehboob Studios saw Sanjay Dutt dancing alongside an actress in an item number. This item number comprises of a peppy song number.” The source added that Pooja Bhatt was also present at the shoot, sitting close to the monitor. Well, we wonder which actress will Sanjay match steps with.
Although the work on Bhatt family's dream project has taken off in full swing, Sanjay is making sure that the crew observing their fast are looked after. “Sanjay was the one who told all the Muslim workers on the set, from spot boys to all who are fasting, to go and break their fast on time,” added the source. Meanwhile, it was only last week that Alia had posted on Instagram: "Today is Day 1 of Sadak 2. And that's my father, now also my director, holding the clap. I begin shoot in a few days and honestly, I'm petrified."
Pooja Bhatt would also be returning to acting after 18 years with Sadak 2.
