CONFIRMED: Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn to co-star in SS Rajamouli's RRR starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR

Acclaimed filmmaker SS Rajamouli's upcoming project RRR, a followup to blockbuster Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, is perhaps one of the most sought after films in recent times. The film has already gone on floors with lead stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR, however, it managed to pique the interest of the audience with reports of Bollywood actors Alia Bhatt or/and Parineeti Chopra and Ajay Devgn starring in it. Now after months of speculations, the makers finally announced the entire cast of RRR during a press meet and confirmed that Alia and Ajay are indeed a part of the film. When I sent Ajay a text that I would like to meet and pitch an idea, he immediately made time to meet. He got really excited after hearing the idea and instantly worked out his dates for this project. Ajay will be seen playing a very important role in the flashback episode." Meanwhile, Alia shared her excitement to collaborate with the filmmaker and revealed details about her character as well. "Working with Rajamouli sir is a big big tick off my bucket list.. also to be alongside Ram Charan and Jr. NTR is an absolute honour.. I am very excited about this experience and also working in the south for the first time.. I begin shoot in less than a month.. I will be playing the role of Sita, and the film is set in 1920s backdrop," she said in a statement. Interestingly, Alia will be paired opposite Ram Charan in the film. RRR is slated to release on July 30, 2020 in multiple languages including Telugu, Tamil and Hindi.
