Sidharth Malhotra’s next with Parineeti Chopra has got its titled changed. A report in a leading daily suggests that the film, which was earlier titled as Shotgun Shaadi, has now been renamed as Jabariya Jodi. And Sidharth is the man responsible for the change.

As per the report, the actor was going through some readings for the film, when he came across the word ‘Jabariya,’ which means zabardasti in Bhojpuri. The daily quotes a source saying, “As it’s based on pakadwa vivaah, the makers felt that this was an apt name. In Bhojpuri, jabariya means zabardasti, so the title refers to a couple who is forced to get married. The two actors have also shot for the posters before leaving for Lucknow, so they should be out soon”.

In fact, it’s also been revealed that it was Sidharth himself who pushed Ekta to back the film. Sidharth had earlier told the daily that he has got some high regards for the producer and her skills since she gave him the biggest hit of his career — Ek Villain. He said, “Balaji will always be special because till date, my biggest film (Ek Villain, 2014) is with Ekta. That’s why the thought of calling her up about this script earlier this year was obvious. She’s good at presenting and marketing a film. We have had great energies which have worked for us in Ek Villain and we are going to amplify it further with this movie”.

The film is based on the concept of groom kidnappings and has got a humourous touch to it. The posters of the film have already been shot and will be out soon.

What are your thoughts about the new title though?
