Ankita Lokhande said that she is open to doing films that define her character well, even if that implies starring in a project opposite her former boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput, she said while speaking to a leading daily. The 34-year-old actress dated Sushant for six years before separating in 2016.
Asked about whether she minds maintaining a cordial relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Ankita told the daily, “I don’t mind being friends with anyone.” In that case, does she have reservations against working with Sushant, in case a film is offered to both of them, and she said, “I will do any film that defines my character well, has a brilliant director and gives me the scope to make an impact.” Ankita, meanwhile, also spoke to another leading daily about working with Sushant and said, “As an actor, I have no choice. If the script is good, I will definitely work with him.”
Ankita, meanwhile, is all set to make her debut in Bollywood with Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, and Sushant, on social media, recently appreciated her look in the film and said that she is looking “great” in it.
Asked to respond to it, Ankita also told the daily, “Many people have tweeted good things about me. That’s what he also did. There is nothing much in it to talk about. He has just appreciated my look and I am thankful that he did that. I also like it when he does something good.”
Before venturing into films, Ankita and Sushant appeared together in the principal roles in the hit television series Pavitra Rishta. Sushant made his debut in Bollywood with Kai Po Che in 2013 and subsequently appeared in the films Shuddh Desi Romance, PK, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story and Raabta. His new film Kedarnath released in December.
Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead role, is scheduled to release on January 25.
