On his 54th birthday, Bollywood’s perfectionist Aamir Khan has announced the remake of Forrest Gump. The actor will star in the official remake. The confirmation comes from the actor himself on his birthday. Aamir hosted a media interaction at his residence on his big day and confirmed the big news. The official rename of Forrest Gump will be titled as Lal Singh Chaddha.
Reports of Aamir acquiring rights of Forrest Gump were doing rounds on the internet for a long time and now Aamir has confirmed it. Aamir will be seen playing the role of a Sikh and will also wear a turban for a certain part of the film. The actor will also reduce 20 kgs for his role, preparation for which has already started. Lal Singh Chaddha will go on floor in September 2019 and will be shot in Punjab, Delhi and others locales of Himachal Pradesh.

“Lal Singh Chaddha ke look pe kaam kar rahe hai. I will be wearing a turban. September mein shoot start hogi. I have to be lean and slim in this role, so will be losing 20 kgs. The movie will release next year”, Aamir said during the media interaction. The film will be directed by Secret Superstar fame Advait Chandan and produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Viacom 18.
Talking about Forrest Gump, the romantic comedy-drama featured Tom Hanks that won the film six Oscars including Best Film, Best Actor and Best Director for Robert Zemeckis. A slow-witted but kind-hearted man, played by Tom, witnesses several defining American historical events in the 20th century but goes about life largely unaware of their significance, is the gist of the story. Forrest Gump became the largest grossing film in the year of its release in 1994.
