Simmba: Ranveer Singh’s film crosses Rs 200 crore mark, is expected to continue its rampage

Ranveer Singh’s and Sara Ali Khan’s Simmba has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark at the domestic box office. The film was the last big release of 2018 and still going strong at the box office. The film also stars Sonu Sood and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles. The film has established Ranveer’s credibility at the box office as a dependable and bankable star. Simmba is Rohit Shetty’s 8th consecutive film to have entered the Rs 100 crore club.

According to latest box office collections, the film fetched a cool Rs 50 crore on Day 3 and has crossed Rs 200 crore till date. The film is a full-blown masala entertainer and sees Ranveer in the role of a cop for the first time. Simmba is Rohit’s most successful film after Chennai Express and Golmaal Again that released last year.

Talking about working with Rohit, Ranveer said in an interview, “Everything I was born to do, I have done in Rohit Shetty’s film from running at high speed, dialogues, fights to larger than life projection from a low angle on a huge canvas.” The popularity of Ranveer and Simmba has become such that Ranveer even featured on the January cover of the popular Indian comic Tinkle.
