Karisma Kapoor to make her digital debut in the remake of American TV series Pretty Little Liars

Bollywood celebrities are no longer restricted only to the big screen anymore, after venturing into small screen they have now hopped on to the digital bandwagon. Spearheaded by Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Sacred Games there has been a horde of stars who ventured out on the digital medium. Now, the latest name on the list is of Karisma Kapoor who has been on a hiatus from the big screen since her last film Dangerous Ishhq in 2012, will soon be making her foray into the digital world.

The digital series is produced by Ekta Kapoor and will air on ALTBalaji. The show will be based on the American TV series Pretty Little Liars. While the international show had five teenage girls in the lead, the Indian series will see five glamorous mothers in the ALTBalaji outing. Karisma is roped in to play the lead and the makers are looking for more credible faces to make up the entire star cast. An official announcement from the digital platform is soon awaited.

The series is titled Mentalhood, instead of Mental which was their initial choice. A leading daily had earlier reported, “Salman Khan and Sohail Khan have already registered the title Mental under their name so Ekta couldn’t get the name for Lolo’s show. She is also producing Mental Hai Kya with Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao. So, they decided to call the web series Mentalhood instead, keeping the essence of the word, which is the crux of the story.”
