‘The 355’ trailer: Jessica Chastain, Lupita Nyong'o, Penélope Cruz, Diane Kruger and Fan Bingbing kick ass as world-class spies

If a group of guys can save the world by banding together then the same work can be done by feisty and fiery women. That’s exactly what Universal Pictures is out to prove with its upcoming film The 355. The first trailer of the action-drama has been dropped that will make you feel the adrenaline rush.

The 355 stars Jessica Chastain, Lupita Nyong'o, Penélope Cruz, Diane Kruger and Fan Bingbing. The Universal film also stars Sebastian Stan and Edgar Ramírez. The trailer showcases a top-notch group of international rival agents who must work together to stop a deadly plot to bring about World War III. The trailer is full of clichés if you’re looking for them, but still packs in a punch.

The action looks solid as the female protagonists are given the same elements that filmmakers employ for male-dominated action films. The female stars shoot, kick ass, compromise on their personal lives and yet look deadly when wielding guns and kicking the hell out of miscreants.

Directed by Simon Kinberg, the screenplay was written by Kinberg and Theresa Rebeck. The film is produced by Chastain and Kelly Carmichael for Chastain’s Freckle Films and by Kinberg for his Genre Films. The film is executive produced by Richard Hewitt. For the moment, The 355 is scheduled to be released on January 15, 2021.
