Watch: Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Turner-Smith showcase the brunt truth of systemic racism in 'Queen & Slim' trailer

The intriguing trailer of Universal Pictures' Queen & Slim was made available on social media platforms by the makers. The film starring Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Turner-Smith in central roles showcases the journey of a black couple, stuck into neck-deep troubles, all thanks to an adverse circumstance. The film touches upon the topic of racism and shows the couple in concern as the primary victims of the same, making us think about the ill effects of the evil bias that's prevalent in the society. With the trailer, it won't be wrong to assume that the film will surely turn out to be the best watches of 2019. 

Coming to the trailer, we can see Daniel and Jodie take a drive together on their first date in Ohio. Soon, the couple is stopped for a minor traffic infraction, leading to racist comments arriving their way. As a measure of self-defense, Daniel kills the police officer. Terrified, Daniel, a retail employee and Jodie, a criminal defense lawyer, escape and go on a run to save themselves. Although, unfortunately, the incident gets captured on video, which goes viral, and the couple becomes a source of trauma, terror, grief and pain for people across the country. Queen & Slim is written by Lena Waithe and directed by Melina Matsoukas. The film is bankrolled by Makeready and will be distributed by Universal Pictures worldwide. eOne will be handling distribution in select territories including the U.K. and Canada. Queen & Slim is scheduled to release on November 27, 2019.
