TV series 'Friends' to celebrate its 25th Anniversary with a New York Pop-Up experience

There is some really great news for fans of the hit TV series Friends. The beloved series will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its premier on NBC this fall and to commemorate the occasion this fall a special pop-up experience in New York will be held. The event is part of the celebrations of the show’s 25th anniversary and tickets go on sale on Friday for the event, which runs Sept. 7 through Oct. 6, and will be open seven days a week.

The event will be held in New York City’s Soho neighbourhood and will give an opportunity to fans to visit recreations of the famed Central Perk coffeehouse, Chandler’s and Joey’s living room with the recliners and foosball table, the fountain from the opening credits of the series and even the narrow staircase wher eteh famous ‘pivot’ scene featuring Ross, Chandler and Rachel took place. Props and costumes from the series will also be on display.

Talking about the event, Warner Bros. consumer products' senior Vice President, global themed entertainment, Peter van Roden, said in a statement, “It’s been nearly 25 years since Friends premiered, but the fascination and universal appeal of the hit TV series lives on with fans of all ages. As we celebrate the show’s milestone anniversary, we are excited to bring the Friends experience to life for our fans in a way that pays homage to the remarkable cast of characters, iconic sets and instantly quotable moments.”

Superfly co-founder Jonathan Mayers added, “We're excited to celebrate 25 years of fandom with the show's biggest immersive experience to date. The Friends New York City pop-up captures the series most memorable moments with the characters, memorabilia, set re-creations and exclusive merchandise."

Friends was a hugely successful show which is still aired on TV in reruns. It ran for ten-long-years from 1994 to 2004. It starred Courtney Cox, Matthew Perry, Jennifor Aniston, David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow and Matt Le Blanc in the lead roles.
