Watch: Chris Evans leads an intense and bloody rescue mission out of Sudan in ‘The Red Sea Diving Resort’ trailer

If you thought Chris Evans was done saving the world, oh boy were you wrong. Netflix released the official trailer for its upcoming film, The Red Sea Diving Resort, coming to the platform July 31st. The film also stars Michael K. Williams, Haley Bennett, Alessandro Nivola, Michiel Huisman, Chris Chalk, Greg Kinnear and Ben Kingsley and is directed by Israeli filmmaker Gideon Raff.

Inspired by true events, The Red Sea Diving Resort details a series of rescue missions in the late Seventies and early Eighties in Sudan. Evans portrays Ari Kidron, the de facto leader of an undercover team of international agents; together they set out to smuggle a group of refugees from Sudan – in the midst of a revolutionary uprising and subsequent civil war – to Israel, all by using a deserted holiday retreat as a front.

“During the day, the agents would entertain hotel guests, tourists and divers from all over the world. Then at night, they would go out into very dangerous areas and risk their lives in order to help the Ethiopians,” says writer/director Gideon Raff. "The story of Ethiopian Jews' journey to Israel is one of great courage and sacrifice."

This marks Chris’ first post-Marvel role, playing agent Ari Kidron, and the erstwhile Captain America star has the internet going gaga over his bearded look in the trailer.  The actor also has lined-up, including Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson's new whodunnit Knives Out
