Game of Thrones Recap: From Jon's resurrection to Cersei's coronation, here's everything you need to remember from season 6

It’s close…so close…Can you feel it too? As we countdown the hours till the final season of Game of Thrones releases, we want to you to remember the journey that lead us to this day.

Jon’s death, Cersei’s atonement and Sansa’s escape were some of our takeaways from Season 5. Catch a quick rewind of Season 6 here.

Jon Snow is dead. His corpse is found by Ser Davos, Edd and a few other loyalists on their arrival in Castle Black, who lock themselves inside a room, while Edd goes out in search of help. Davos seeks Lady Melisandre’s help, who resists at first, but agrees later. She fails on her first attempt and feels she had a similar fate from the second attempt as well. But when everyone leaves and the room is empty, Jon awakens with jolt! So dramatic, we can’t cope!

Meanwhile, Edd arrives with Tormund and a group of Wildlings, who arrest Alliser Thorne, the then Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch.

Ramsay learns of Myranda’s death and Sansa’s escape. His men try to catch up with Theon and Sansa in the woods, when Brienne and Poddrick intervene and kill the men. Later, Sansa accepts Brienne’s service, who pledges herself to the Stark girl. She also permits Theon to return to Iron Islands, where his uncle Euron reappears to murder King Balon, Theon’s father.

At King’s Landing, Jaime promises Cersei that they will seek revenge for Myrcella’s death. Tommen is shown conversing at lengths with the High Sparrow, who later speaks to Margaery too.  The Queen is also permitted to see Loras in prison.

In Dorne, Ellaria and her daughters kill Trystane and Doran after he learns of Myrcella’s death, while in Mereen, Tyrion and Varys find all the ships burning in the harbor. Jorah and Daario continue to track Daenerys, who is taken by the Dothraki to Khal Moro. Tyrion also learns that Astapor and Yunkai have reverted to slavery, and releases Rhaegal and Viserion from their chains. DON’T EAT THE HELP!

In Bravos, a blind Arya sits as a beggar on the streets who is attacked and beaten by the Waif. H’ghar sees this and recruits her again. Arya then trains rigorously, to become a ‘no one’ and regain her eye-sight.

Ramsay murders Roose, Lady Bolton and her newborn baby to claim Lordship of the Bolton house. On the flip side, Lord Umber seek Ramsay’s alliance by giving them Rickon, Osha and the head of Rickon’s direwolf as a gift, in turn betraying House Umber’s pledged loyalty to House Stark.

The Shift

Brandon has vision from the past. He sees his father’s early days, aunt Lyanna, uncle Benjen and even young Hodor.  

Sam goes to his family estate in Hornhill with an intent to leave Gilly and baby Sam in their care, while he goes to Citadel to study. But Sam’s father, Randyll berates them, after which Sam decides that the three of them will leave together, not before he stole House Tarly’s ancestoral Valyrian sword, the Heartsbane.

Sansa’s party arrives at Castle Black, where she reunites with Jon. Baelish goes to the Vale to mobilize the Tully army against Ramsay. He then visits Sansa to inform her how her uncle, Brynden Tully has agreed to extend his help, which she bluntly refuses.

Jon and Sansa start touring the north to gather alliances against the Bolton’s, while Brienne is sent to Vale to seal the deal with Brynden Tully.

Theon arrives home and explains to Yara how he’ll support her in Kingsmoot. Euron wins the Kingsmoot and conspires to kill the Greyjoy siblings, but they flee from the site.

Tyrion meets with the slave masters of Slaver's Bay to offer peace if they will end slavery within a period of seven years, an action that angers the former slaves. Daenerys, on the other hand, meets with the Khals in the temple of the Dosh Khaleen; after they refuse to serve her. She burns them and Moro to death, while she watches them die. When she emerges unhurt from the embers, the Dothraki kneel to her. Daenerys learns about Jorah’s greyscale illness and commands him to find a cure, heal and return.

Margaery is imprisoned for lying to in front of the Gods. On the flip side, Olenna, Jaime and Cersei put aside their differences to deal with the Sparrows. Jaime tries to rescue Margaery, but learns that she has repented and that Tommen has forged an alliance with the Faith. 

Arya is given a to redeem herself by killing an actress called Lady Crane. After some observation, Arya warns Lady crane about the same and retrieves her sword, the Needle from the pile of rocks. Waif learns about the same and inform H’ghar, who permits her to kill Arya.

The twist

Osha tries to kill Ramsay, but gets killed instead. Ramsay writes to Jon stating that he will hurt Rickon if Sansa isn’t returned to Winterfell. At this, Sansa persuades Jon and convinces him to march against Ramsay.

Brandon’s unsurpervised vision leads him to lose control. In consequence, the Night King touches him in his vision that leaves their previously secured cave bare for them. The White-walkers then, attack the cave killing the Three-eyed-Raven, Children of the Forest and Hodor, who’s younger state was shown to be mentally disturbed because of Bran’s interference. We are not crying, you are!

They get rescued by a stranger, who turns out to be his uncle Benjen. Benjen reveals that he was turned by the wights and later unturned by the Children of Forest with the help of Dragon-glass. He also, tells them to pass the wall, where he wouldn’t accompany them.

Margaery convinces Olenna to return to Highgarden while Jaime is relieved as the Kingsguard and ordered to help Walder Frey claim the Lordship of Riverrun. He was also told to persuade Brynden Tully to surrender, the now Lord of Vale, who’s son Edmure was under Frey’s captivity.

Brienne arrives in vale, tries to persuade Brynden and fails. She has a run-in with Jaime there, who makes a confession about his motives. Jaime threatens to kill Edmure’s younger son, after which the Blackfish surrendered. Brynden is killed, while Brienne and Poddrick escape. Walder Frey, who still held Edmure captive, put him back in a cell, acting against the negotiation.

The Hound is revealed to be alive, having been saved by a Septon and his followers. When men from the Brotherhood threaten and eventually slaughter the group, the Hound decides to get revenge. He kills the men, who were revealed to be renegades. The Brotherhood then invites the Hound to join their cause.

Jon, the Wildlings and House Mormont join hands against the Boltons, but stay out numbered. In desperate need of help, Sansa writes a letter calling for aid.

Arya prepares to flee for Westeros, but gets attacked by the Waif. She gets brutally injured and is taken in by Lady Crane for aid. The Waif finds out, kills Lady Crane while Arya runs through the streets, leading the Waif in the catacombs, where she kills her.

Mareen gets attacked by the slaver’s city when Daenerys returns. She meets with the slave-masters to negotiate, but they refuse it. She then instructs her dragons to burn them and their fleet. Varys takes his leave to go on an undisclosed mission.

The Baelor wildfire

Before her trial, Cersei burns down the Sept of Baelor with a Wildfire killing the Sparrow, Mace, Margaery and hundreds of other people including nobles and militants in course. Stuck from shock and grief, Tommen commits suicide.

The Battle of the Bastards

Near Winterfell, the Stark and Bolton armies meet on the field. Ramsay feigns setting Rickon free, but kills him with a long-distance arrow before Jon can save him. During the battle, the Stark forces are pinned by Bolton soldiers, but are rescued by the Knights of the Vale in the nick of time. Ramsay flees inside Winterfell, but the Wildling giant Wun Wun, having taken numerous arrows to his body, manages to break down the gate before succumbing to his wounds. Jon brutally beats Ramsay and imprisons him. Sansa later visits Ramsay's cell and watches as his starving hounds devour him.

The beginning of the end

Arya then returns the Waif’s face to Chamber of Face, declares that she is Arya Stark and that she is now going home. She goes to Riverrun in disguise and slits Walder Frey’s throat, just like he murdered Catelyn.

Varys meets Olenna and Ellaris is Dorne to form an alliance with Daenerys against the Lannisters.

Davos confronts the Red Witch about Shireen’s death, at which Jon banishes her from Winterfell.

Brandon uses his powers and learns that Jon is actually the son of his aunt Lyanna, being adopted by Eddard after she died during Robert’s rebellion

The Wildlings, the Knights of the Vale and the surviving Houses of the North pledge loyalty to Jon as the new King in the North.

Sam, Gilly and baby Sam arrive at Citadel while Daenerys leaves Daario and the Second Sons to rule Mereen before she sets sail to Westeros with her other companions, armies and dragons.

Jaime returns to King's Landing to find Qyburn crowning Cersei the new monarch of the Seven Kingdoms.
