With a whopping $40.5 million, Scarlett Johansson tops the 'World’s Highest Paid Actresses' list

Internationally renowned Forbes Magazine released the list of World’s Highest Paid Actresses for June 2017 to June 2018 earlier on Thursday. The Black Widow actress Scarlett Johansson has taken over the spot from Emma Stone, this year with a whopping figure of $40.5 Million. With one of the most anticipated and successful film – Marvel's Avengers: Infinity Wars, Johansson quadrupled her earnings from 2017 jumping to the top spot. She will return as Black Window in the fourth installment of Avengers franchise that is due release in 2019.

"The percent of budget cost has certainly skewed heavy, particularly on the Avengers movies, to cast now, whereas maybe in the early ones it was more visual effects or below the line, but that's okay because the actors are the best effects," said Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios President and producer.

Following the Lucy actress, is Angeline Jolie. The Lara Croft actor made it to the second position largely because of her upcoming film and the second installment of popular dark fantasy – Maleficent 2.

Next in line is The Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence. In spite of her last two films Mother and Red Sparrow failing at the box office, she maintains her high fees for upcoming roles In X-Men series as Mystique and her high-paying Dior contract.

The top ten ladies, on the Highest Paid list, combine to $186 Million from June 2017 to June 2018 before deducting fees and taxes.
