Emilia Clarke bids ‘Game of Thrones’ a goodbye forever

Believe it or not but the long rollercoaster ride we have had with the epic drama-fantasy show Game of Thrones is on its final leg now. The show that first aired in April 2011 will return in June 2019 with its eighth and concluding season. The shooting has been wrapped for Emilia Clarke who plays Daenerys Targaryen. Emilia recently posted a picture on her Instagram, reminiscing about her days at home away from home as she bade her final goodbye to the almost a decade-long journey that the show was.

She shared a beautiful picture, lying down amidst pretty flowers clad in a thick fur coat. While her smile makes us smile, her caption makes us teary-eyed. “Hopped on a boat to an island to say goodbye to the land that has been my home away from home for almost a decade. It’s been a trip @gameofthrones thank you for the life I never dreamed I’d be able to live and the family I’ll never stop missing #lastseasonitis”, she wrote. You see that broken heart emoticon? That’s ours.

The final and the eighth season was announced by HBO, on July 26, 2017, after the finale episode of season 7 in June. We have been waiting for almost a year and the wait only goes on for almost another year. The finale won’t air until April next year. We wonder what is slated for the mother of dragons in the show next since she has wrapped up early. Though, we hope we do not have to say goodbye to Dany like she did to Viseryon. (Spoiler Alert!)

The picture comes as a bitter reminder to all the GoT fans that the end is near. You didn’t know what you signed up for until you spent all your nights binge-watching only to find yourself re-binge-watching GoT all over again. Well, now all we know that the wait is long and full of terrors.
