This wasn’t my intention at all: Falguni Peacock apologizes after facing flak from netizens for body-shaming plus-size brides

The creative director of Falguni Shane Peacock, Falguni Peacock is all over the news and not for the right reasons. The designer received a lot of backlash for her insensitive comment on plus-size brides, for which, she apologized later.

In a recent interview with Good Times, Falguni was asked what advice she would give to the plus-sized brides while picking their wedding dress to which she responded, “I won't blatantly tell her to lose weight, but you have enough time and you can work on yourself. It is pretty easy to lose a couple of inches if you want to." When further asked as to what kind of outfit should a plus-size bride opt for she replied, Long blouses, more flared lehengas and not fitted because fitted won't really work when you're a little big. No deep-necks for them, maybe more higher."

Her comments received a lot of flak on social media. A plus-size blogger Amber Qureshi too it to her Instagram and called her 'shallow' for her insensitive and toxic comments on plus-size women. If that wasn't enough, Instagram's fashion police, Diet Sabya also called her out for her ‘no deep neck for plus size brides’ comment by posting a photo of a plus-size model with a plunging neckline from designer Sabyasachi’s collection.
