PeepingMoon Exclusive: 'Parineeti Chopra inspired me with Saina Nehwal biopic, her scenes made me emotional,' says music composer Amaal Mallik

Parineeti Chopra is all set to play the role of the badminton icon Saina Nehwal in the official biopic Saina. While Parineeti has spent a tough time prepping for the challenging role, music composer of the film Amaal Mallik feels she is the right fit for the biopic. In an exclusive chat with PeepingMoon exclusively, Amaal recently talked about his work on Saina Nehwal biopic and how Parineeti left no stone unturned to get into the skin of her character.

On Parineeti's performance, Amaal said, "Parineeti (Chopra) has inspired me with the work she has done in this film. Ussne fod diya. She’s looked her part, she speaks like her with her dialect, and there 4-5 scenes that made me very emotional and I actually cried while doing the background score. The emotion, the family, her love story with Kashyap, all those things are beautiful touched upon. The film will touch your heart and hopefully my music too."

When asked about his work as the background scorer, he said, "We’re on the last leg now. We just finished the trailer and the teaser. I’m making my debut as a background scorer in this film. I’ve assisted a lot of composers for background but this is the first film where the songs are mine and so is the background score. So it’s a very prestigious film. Got to work with Amol Gupte of Taarein Zameen Par, I couldn’t have asked for a better director. We’ve been working on the film for the past 3-4 years."

Talking about the release, he said, "The film will release in 2021 and whenever it releases, people will find it very fresh and beautiful. It’s the story of the daughter of India who became a hero from zero."

On the work front, Amaal made his pop music debut recently with the song Tu Mera Nahi. Amaal's work comprises of hit music for films such as Badrinath Ki Dulhania, M S Dhoni The Untold Story, Hero, Kapoor & Sons, Golmaal 5, Baar Baar Dekho, Airlift, Baaghi, Kabir Singh, De De Pyaar De, Badla and Sanam Re among others.
