Exclusive: Arjun Kapoor replaced by Kartik Aryan as IIFA host at the last minute!

There’s been a sudden and dramatic change in the hosts of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards that are being held this year in Mumbai on September 16 and 18, 2019 at DOME, NSCI, SVP Stadium. At a press conference in Mumbai last week, attended by Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Madhuri Dixit no less, it was announced that 20th homecoming edition of NEXA IIFA awards 2019 would be hosted by Arjun Kapoor and Ayushmann Khuranna. Now PeepingMoon.com has reliably learned that Arjun has reportedly been dropped from this prestigious duty and instead Kartik Aryan will join Ayushmann on the stage.

If this tidbit of information is correct, there will naturally be a lot of wild speculation about why Arjun was dropped by the IIFA organizers at this late hour. And if he has been dropped at all, then it was done at who’s insistence. Poor Arjun, his loss is turning out to be Kartik’s gain. And a loss it will be because this much-awaited edition of the NEXA IIFA Awards is going to be extraordinarily spectacular with the organisers pulling out all stops to give Mumbai a star-studded Bollywood event like it has not seen before.

Included among the star performers at this films awards night are Bollywood’s biggest names including Salman, Madhuri, Ranveer Singh and Katrina. Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan are slated to make their debuts as well. While the IIFA Rocks segment will be hosted by Radhika Apte and Ali Fazal and will feature the best of the music and fashion industry with musical renditions from composers including Amit Trivedi and Salim-Sulaiman, performances by singers like Neha Kakkar, Jassie Gill, B Praak, Dhvani Bhanushali, Ranjit Barot, Jonita Gandhi, Nakash Aziz and Tulsi Kumar.

Arjun will be missed at the glittering awards gala in Mumbai, of course. Last time he hosted an IIFA Awards was in 2015 at Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia where he was joined on stage by his Gunday co-star Ranveer. They were a high-energy duo and their act on stage was an entertaining knockout as all those who attended that 16th edition of the IIFA Awards will remember. Let’s see what Ayushmann and Kartik give Mumbai and Bollywood this time.
