The Bollywood buzz that Gully Boy sensation Siddhant Chaturvedi, who is on a roll and reportedly just signed three YRF projects, is doing a film with Shimit Amin that was originally meant for Ranveer Singh may be true. Shimit, who got famous for directing Chak De! India in 2007, was said to be in talks with Siddhant, but it is not known for what film that he had in mind.

Now PeepingMoon.com has learned that Shimit is directing a film for producer Sunir Khetrapal (co-producer of Badla and Kesari) that will be the official Hindi remake of the Hollywood crime drama The Departed. And it just might be this film that Shimit has a role in mind for Siddhant. The Departed that was directed by the legendary Martin Scorsese, was itself a remake of the 2002 Hong Kong film Internal Affairs.
