Exclusive: Sunny Deol in Iulia Vantur’s debut film but the action’s not going to be in Mathura?

Now that the elections are over and he’s a brand new MP from Gurdaspur, Sunny Deol is reportedly itching to get back to action. And if sources are to be believed, he’s come on board the film that launches the Bollywood career of Salman Khan’s Romanian model, TV actress and singer friend Iulia Vantur. You recall PeepingMoon.com had broken the story in August 2018 about Iulia making her debut in a film titled Radha Kyon Gori Main Kyon Kaala? It was to be directed by Prem Soni who helmed the Salman-Kareena Kapoor starrer Main Aur Mrs. Khanna in 2009 and Preity Zinta’s Ishkq in Paris in 2013.

Since then, Prernaa Arora of KriArj Entertainment, the producer of this film, found herself arrested and put in jail for her alleged involvement in several fraud cases, and actress Kashish Khan stepped in as a debutant producer. The film also had a change in title. It is now called Moh Moh Ke DhaageThe film team met Sunny a fortnight ago and convinced him to come on board. Just when dates were being discussed, the actor announces his candidacy on a BJP ticket from Gurdaspur. His winning the poll has put the film on the backburner for a few more months, sources say.

The story is believed to be inspired from true events and revolves around the doping and rape of a foreigner in Mathura by a cab driver. She is a bhakt of Lord Krishna. When she comes around, the foreigner finds herself on a railway station with her child beside her. Iulia is supposedly playing a Polish girl who comes to India only to have her life take a drastic turn. Sources say that Moh Moh Ke Dhaage is going to be shot in Poland, Mathura, Delhi and Goa and will have Iulia falling in love with the country and becoming a Lord Krishna devotee.

However, there is a hitch. Sunny is reportedly reluctant to shoot in Mathura. He is believed to want a change in the location of the film where the action takes place. Is this because Mathura is the constituency of sitting MP Hema Malini and he is loathe to tarnish its image with sexual violence? Or another more personal reason?
PeepingMoon.com sources have no confirmation on whether Mathura will remain the shoot location as that is where the real rape took place. Or whether the film unit will shift to Goa where also there have been a couple of horrific rapes committed against foreigners.

Last year when news of her interest to break into Bollywood broke out, Iulia was reportedly all gung-ho. She had just sang for the Salman-Jacqueline Fernandez action-thriller Race 3 and was reportedly looking forward to singing for her debut. Incidentally, Randeep Hooda was to be the male lead and Jimmy Shergill was also signed on for a pivotal role.
