Bhagyashree Patwardhan, better known as Bhagyashree, made her Bollywood debut opposite Salman Khan with Maine Pyar Kiya in 1989 and won accolades for her beautiful performance as Suman in the Sooraj Barjatya directorial debut. Since then, the actress's and Salman's on-screen jodi, as well as the film, attained a cult classic status that nobody has been able to erase. Now, as Maine Pyar Kiya completed 30 years on Sunday(December 29), Bhagyashree's actor son Abhimanyu Dassani paid a lovely tribute to the venture on Instagram.
Abhimanyu, along with his upcoming film Nikamma's co-star Shirley Setia recreated iconic scenes from Maine Pyar Kiya and paid an ode to keep the legacy alive forever. Keeping the essence intact, Abhimanyu and Shirley replicated the scenes with much honesty and grace which is proven through the picture and video they shared. Not just this, Abhimanyu, on Salman's 54th birthday that was on December 27, gifted him a specially customised jacket that resembled the one he wore in Maine Pyar Kiya.
Rajshri Productions, who bankrolled Maine Pyar Kiya, shared a special and heartwarming video to celebrate the occasion.
Speaking of Maine Pyar Kiya, the film revolved around Prem and Suman who belong to families with different ideologies. When the two realised their love for each other, Suman's father gives Prem a second chance to prove himself. Apart from Salman and Bhagyashree, the film starred Alok Nath, Reema Lagoo, Mohnish Bahl and Laxmikant Berde.
