Internet sensation Ranu Mondal along with her idol Lata Mangeshkar makes it to the list of most searched celebrities in 2019 on Google, Vicky Kaushal at number five

Google India has released its annual year ‘Year in Search 2019’ list in several categories that gives a glimpse of what made news in the country. While Shahid Kapoor’s film Kabir Singh took the top spot in the most searched films category beating Avengers: Endgame, army man Abhinandan Varthaman took the numero uno spot beating all Bollywood celebs in the most searched personalities.

Abhinandan was followed by Lata Mangeshkar who occupied the second spot. The veteran singer’s ill health and hospitalization sent a wave of fear and anxiety amongst her countless fans that resulted in an upsurge on the search volume on Google. The 90-year-old singer has been one of the top trends ever since she was hospitalized on November 11 after being diagnosed with pneumonia.

Number three spot was claimed by Yuvraj Singh as the cricketer announced his retirement while mathematician Anand Kumar came in at the 4th spot. He was in the news for the biopic Super 30 being made on his life starring Hrithik Roshan. National-award winner Vicky Kaushal came in at the fifth position. Internet sensation Ranu Mondal also made the list of the most searched celebrities. She clinched the seventh spot while Tara Sutaria came in at 8th position. Bigg Boss 13 contestant Sidharth Shukla also made the list at the number nine spot whereas Koena Mitra who resurfaced after years to take part in the controversial reality show along with Shukla came in at the 10th position.
