Explained to him that I am not taking a personal dig at you: Taapsee Pannu on her comment on Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor

Taapsee Pannu is amongst those few actresses who never shy away from voicing their opinions on the right issue in the public. Be it pay parity or nepotism, the Saand Ki Aankh star makes sure to put forth her stand in an unfiltered manner. Similarly, during her appearance on No Filter Neha Season 4, Taapsee, on being asked to name a newcomer who would have been nowhere if he/she did not have famous parents. She named Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor. Harsh, who is the youngest son of Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor, stepped into Bollywood with a debacle film titled Mirzya. He then starred in Bhavesh Joshi Superhero which also failed to work at the box-office. Soon, her statement became a controversy, making headlines.  Addressing this matter, Taapsee, during a media conclave, told that post making the comment, she spoke to Harsh and clarified that she wasn't taking a dig at him.

"On a show, I was asked about the actor who wouldn't have been in the industry because of their parents. I said most of them. The host, however, wanted one name. I don't know Harshvardhan personally but after that comment we exchanged a few messages. In those messages I explained to him that I am not taking a personal dig at you. I am just saying that if I was in your position, I wouldn't have gotten the second chance. It's a regular fact," Taapsee told.

Taapsee further said that star kids have a name to live up to and match the standards their families have established. Continuing, she added that non-filmi actors have to struggle to get an equal footing in terms of opportunities. "I don't deny the fact that they have their fears too. They have a name to live up to. I take all my decisions fearlessly. They have to match up to their family. But we don't get equal footing in terms of opportunities. It takes many hits for us to prove ourselves," Taapsee added.

Workwise, Taapsee will be seen in Thappad, Rashmi Rocket and Tadka.
