PeepingMoon.com was the first to inform you that Shahid Kapoor is confirmed to star in the Hindi remake of Gowtham Tinnauri's Telugu film Jersey which starred Nani and Shraddha Srinath. The Telugu original released in April this year. The original director Gowtham has come on board to helm the remake.
The film is a sports drama that revolves around a failed cricketer (played by Nani) who decides to revive his cricketing career in his late 30s despite everyone being skeptical of his ability to do so. After the first look of Shahid was released, the actor has been spotted quite often as he practices to master the craft of cricket. Recently, Shahid shared a video in which he is seen in cricket whites as he scores a six by hitting the ball out of the park.

Looks like Shahid is back in his perfectionist mode!
The Hindi remake is scheduled to release on August 28, 2020. It will jointly be produced by Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations, Allu Aravind's Geetha Arts and Aman Gill's Brat Films. In the film, Shahid will be seen romancing Mrunal Thakur.
