The wait to witness an epic battle is over! Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt starrer Panipat to release on December 6, 2019

Ever since Ashutosh Gowarikar's upcoming historical drama Panipat was announced, the fans of the genre and the director were sent into a zone of excitement. With a stellar cast of Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt in the lead roles, the film based on a real-life battle, Panipat has accounted to be one of the highly anticipated films this year. And as the project is inching towards its December release date, the makers, on Friday, shared the poster on their social media platforms and informed that the film will hit the screens on December 6, 2019.

"Come Witness The Battle That Changed History, #Panipat. In Cinemas December 6th," the makers wrote while sharing the poster. Speaking of the poster, we can see an array of army battling out against the opposition with their respective flags soaring high in the sky. With this, the excitement to watch the character posters unveil, has shot up high, naturally.

Panipat is based on the Third Battle of Panipat, which is one of the most epic battles in the history of India that took place on 14 January 1761 at Panipat. The battle was fought between the northern expeditionary force of the Maratha Empire and invading forces of the King of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Abdali, supported by two Indian allies—the Rohilla Afghans of the Doab, and Shuja-ud-Daula, the Nawab of Awadh. Arjun, in the film, will play the role of Sadashiv Rao while Kriti is his wife Parvatibai. Sanjay is the menacing Ahmad Shah Abdali. Apart from them, the film stars Padmini Kolhapure, Mohnish Bahl and Zeenat Aman in special roles.

Directed by Ashutosh, Panipat is produced by Sunita Gowariker under their home banner AGPPL in association with Rohit Shelatkar's company – Vision World. The film is scheduled to release on December 6, 2019.
