Ahead of Maharashra assembly elections, Salman Khan's bodyguard Shera joins hands with Shiv Sena, to frontline the Cine wing

The trend of joining a political party has currently gripped every person associated with Bollywood. Be it Sunny Deol or Urmila Matondkar, celebrities have been flocking to renowned political parties to contest elections from different regions. And now, as the assembly elections are just three days away in Maharashtra, we have yet another, popular face who has taken this route. The person is none other than actor Salman Khan's loyal bodyguard Shera. Born as Gurmeet Singh Jolly, Shera has been working with the actor for the last 22 years and now, he has joined the party, Shiv Sena, in presence of its chief Uddhav Thackeray and Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray at their residence Matoshree, on Friday.

Shera, in the pictures that were shared on the official Twitter account of Shiv Sena, can be seen carrying a saffron shawl with a sword held in his hand, which is symbolic to the party's Hindutva ideologies. In Maharashtra, Bharatiya Janata Party and Shiv Sena will be contesting elections as a unit under an alliance.
