Rakesh Roshan recalls his tryst with cancer, dismissed rumours of Sanjay Gupta directing Hrithik Roshan's 'Krrish 4'

Rakesh Roshan, over the years, has given several memorable films to Indian cinema. The actor-turned-filmmaker, in January this year, sent the nation into shock when the news of him suffering from early-stage squamous cell carcinoma, that is throat cancer broke out. Soon, he underwent the treatment and now, nine months later, he is on the route to complete recovery. Recalling his tryst with the Big C, Rakesh, during an interview with a leading daily, told that before the biopsy reports could reach him, he had a feeling that its cancer. Talking about the diagnosis, the filmmaker said when he took notice of a blister below his tongue, he went for a treatment but nothing turned out negative. After months into the incident, during his visit to a friend at a hospital, he ended up approaching an ENT specialist, who advised him of biopsy.

Soon after the reports came out, he added that doctors claimed of horrific treatment, but thanks to Hrithik, a lesser dreadful surgery was performed. Rakesh, who is now gearing up to return to full-fledged work, said he resumed office the very next day after returning from the hospital. Recalling the tough times, Rakesh thanked his fitness level and said his family including wife Pinkie, daughter Sunaina and son Hrithik helped his get onto the path of recovery. Crediting Sunaina for being his pillar of strength, the Khubsoorat actor went on to say that despite the family having gone through a lot of medical issues- Pinkie, a heart patient, Hrithik underwent brain surgery and Sunaina a cancer survivor, stood strong.

Now, with Rakesh on his way to recovery, rumours of Krrish 4 being on cards did the rounds of late. However, it was recently that speculations of Sanjay Gupta directing the film instead of the former circulated. Rakesh, while talking to a leading daily in an interview, dismissed the buzz and said Sanjay, who directed the former's home production film Kaabil, is busy with his own work and indicated that he will be back on the director's chair shortly.
