Akshay Kumar, currently, is amongst the busiest actors in Bollywood. With three releases this year namely Kesari, Mission Mangal and Housefull 4, the actor has proven to master any given role with equal finesse and a personal Midas touch. Come 2020, Akshay will be onscreen with four interesting films that are spread out across the year and one of them is his tenth collaboration with Sajid Nadiadwala titled Bachchan Pandey. The film is scheduled for a Christmas 2020 release and if reports are to be believed, he will start shooting for it by February next year post wrapping the shoot for Sooryavanshi, Laxmmi Bomb and Prithviraj. A source close to the film informed a leading daily that the recce for the location will begin in November and the venture is said to be shot across real locations in South and North India along with sets in Mumbai.
"Before starting work on Bachchan Pandey, Akshay will wrap up a period film and minor chunks of his cop drama, Sooryavanshi. Like most of his films, this one too will be shot in a start-to-finish schedule. The production team will go location-hunting after the release of Housefull 4. It will be shot at real-life locations in North and South India apart from sets in Mumbai," the source told the daily.
Touching more upon Akshay's character from Bachchan Pandey, the source added that it is a massy character filled with several onliners, especially done for the actor. “It’s a massy character and has several oneliners tailor-made for Akshay. A lot of time was also spent on designing his look,” the source added.
Bachchan Pandey is produced by Sajid along with his wife Warda Khan Nadiadwala. The film is directed by Farhad Samji with whom Akshay has shot for the fourth installment of Housefull series, which will release on Diwali this year.
