Ananya Panday, who recently finished shooting for her upcoming film Pati Patni Aur Woh remake in Lucknow, spoke about her equation with co-star Kartik Aaryan, his alleged girlfriend Sara Ali Khan and much more. The actress, who is happy to have shared screen space with Kartik and Bhumi Pedknekar in the film, also talked about how the remake is more relatable in today's time. The original, featuring Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha and Ranjeeta, was a comical take on extra-marital affairs.
When asked about her Pati Patni Aur Woh co-stars, Ananya said, “Kartik and Bhumi are such talented actors, it was great to share screen space with them,” she smiled and went on to reveal that her grandmother was obsessed with Sanjeev Kumar so once she had watched the film with her nani. “At that point, I was not even in talks for the remake but once I signed the film, I watched it again. Times have changed so much that I don’t think that film is very relatable now. The characters in the original were kind of regressive and not fighting back. In our film, the women are more empowered, with strong dialogue, and fit into today’s world perfectly,” she asserted.
Ananya has often admitted to having a crush on Kartik and finding him cute. When asked again about him, the actress said, “Kartik is one of my closest industry friends. He is funny and constantly made me laugh while shooting. We have a comfortable equation.”
Of late, her hero has been dating Saif Ali Khan’s daughter, Sara, his co-star from Imtiaz Ali’s Aaj Kal. Ananya revealed that she has known Sara long before she entered the film industry. “Sara was my senior in school, the two of us were in the same house and participated in a lot of drama competitions,” she smiled.
