‘I have enough interesting characters to play in films': Sidharth Malhotra reveals why he doesn’t want to be part of a web show

The digital medium has undoubtedly become the go to platform for every other Bollywood celeb, from Saif Ali Khan (Sacred Games) and Abhishek Bachchan (Breathe 2) to Jacqueline Fernandez (Mrs Serial Killer). And why not, a web series or film not only helps an actor to experiment with their roles but offers them a way to explore edgy content. While several B-town celebs are flocking towards the web, it seems that’s not on the anvil for Sidharth Malhotra anytime soon as the actor feels he is getting to portray enough and more characters in films.

Talking about it, Sid told a leading daily, “I have enough interesting characters to play in movies, whether it’s Marjaavaan or Shershaah. I am essaying different characters with distinct flavours. I am personally getting a lot of creative satisfaction as an actor. So, it’s not like ‘Oh! I will get to play this or that on the web’ — I am getting to portray enough and more characters in films."

Adding that there is enough audience for Hindi films in the years to come, Sid pointed out, “So, maybe somewhere in the far-off future when I am not creatively satisfied with the characters in movies, I will think of doing a web show. We will have to wait and watch excites actors and what turns up (in the digital space) then."

On the work front, Sidharth is currently busy shooting for his next, Shershaah, in Kargil.
