Used to watch only 2 films every year as a kid but knew that one day I would be doing this: Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone, one of the highest-paid actresses in Bollywood, revealed that as a kid she did not watch as many films as you would expect. In a recent interview with a leading magazine, Deepika shared interesting insights into her childhood and her journey so far, as an actor.

The actress had mentioned in this interview that she had no formal training in acting nor had any mentor she could rely on. Despite her personal and professional failures, she was determined to succeed. When asked about what the driving force behind her decision to join Bollywood was, she said, “As a family, we saw maybe two films a year. I don’t know why. But whenever I watched a movie, I knew that one day I’d be doing this. I’d start with modeling and then go into films. And that’s exactly how it happened.” Deepika further said that she finds it rewarding when people tell her that she hasn’t changed despite her success and that she is still herself.

While Ranveer will be seen portraying the role of Kapil Dev, former captain of the Indian team, Deepika will play the role of his wife Romi Dev. The film is based on India’s historic 1983 cricket World Cup win. This is Ranveer and Deepika’s first film together after their wedding last year. They were last seen together in the film Padmaavat.
