Pakistan Human Rights Minister asks UN to remove Priyanka Chopra as its Goodwill Ambassador

Pakistan Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari sent a letter to UNICEF, requesting the removal of actress Priyanka Chopra as its Goodwill Ambassador.

Shireen shared the letter on Twitter and captioned it as, "Sent letter to UNICEF chief regarding UN Goodwill Ambassador for Peace Ms Chopra".  Ms Chopra has publicly endorsed Indian government position on Kashmir and also supported the nuclear threat issued to Pakistan by the Indian Defence Minister. All this goes completely against the principles of peace and goodwill that Ms. Chopra is supposed to uphold as an UN Goodwill Ambassador for Peace," Mazari wrote in the letter.

This comes a few days after Priyanka was violently called hypocrite by a Pakistani woman named Ayesha Malik at an event in LA. This was in regard to Priyanka's tweet on February 26, a day after the Balakot Air Strikes. Priyanka's tweet supported the move, as she had written, "Jai Hind!" and hashtagged the Indian Armed Forces. Priyanka had responded to the Pakistani woman saying, "Are you done venting? Okay. War is not something I’m really fond of but I am patriotic, so I’m sorry if I hurt sentiments to people who do love me and have loved me. But I think that all of us have a, sort of, middle ground that we all have to walk. Just like you probably do as well. The way that you came at me right now... girl, don’t yell. We’re all here for love."

Ayesha had questioned the actress's role as a United Nations Goodwill ambassador and now Pakistan Human Rights Minister has urged UNICEF to remove the actress from the position of the Goodwill Ambassador.
