Honoured and delighted, Vidya Balan unveils the cover of ‘Sridevi: Girl Woman Superstar’ book on the late actress' 56th birth anniversary

The legendary actress late Sridevi turned 56 on Tuesday and but obvious, her unforgettable memories brought tears to our eyes. The actress, known to be an inspiration to millions of young girls, although isn't a part of us now, her indelible mark in the film industry continues to shine brightly. Sridevi, in her career of 300 films, not just won several awards but became a household name with brilliant performances and was elegance personified. Post her death in 2018, she was conferred with a posthumous National Award for Mom and now, on her birth anniversary, she gave us yet another reason to applaud her array of work. Penguin Books, a leading publication company, announced to dedicate a book to her as a tribute. The title of the book is Sridevi: Girl Woman Superstar. So much so, the cover of the book was unveiled on her birthday by none other than Vidya Balan, who is a self-acclaimed fan of the late actress.

Informing about this book, Vidya shared the cover of the book on her Instagram page and expressed that she was honoured and delighted to launch it on Sridevi's birthday. "I am honoured and delighted to officially launch the Cover of the Penguin book on the iconic SRIDEVI on her 56th birthday today titled, SRIDEVI: GIRL WOMAN SUPERSTAR commemorating the legend's larger-than-life magic spread over five decades. Congratulations to author @satyarthnayak and the @penguinindia mavericks @mileeashwarya19 and @chaudhurishantanuray. A big hug Boneyji!! Sridevi: Girl Woman Superstar, has been approved by actress' husband Boney Kapoor. It is written by author and screenwriter Satyarth Nayak and will be published under the Ebury Press imprint of Penguin Random House in October 2019. Speaking more about the book, it is described as 'the first and only detailed chronicle of the legend’s fifty year-long journey across all the five industries she worked in'. The book aims to allow the reader to understand the late actress' public and personal life, with exclusive insights from her friends and family members.

Sridevi left for her heavenly abode in February 2018 in Dubai, where she attended her nephew Mohit Marwah's wedding. As per medical reports, the actress died after accidentally drowning in a bathtub of a hotel. She is survived by her husband Boney and two daughters Janhvi Kapoor, an actress and Khushi Kapoor.
