The makers of Jabariya Jodi starring Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra in lead roles, will organise a special screening for the real couples who have gone through the harsh reality of Pakadwa Shaadi. The film will be shown to the people who have been subjected to the practice in Bihar.

The director of the film, Prashant Singh shared, "We are exploring to arrange a screening for the real couples of jabariya vivaah in Bihar. The real couples have been reaching out to us since the time we have launched the film trailer.” The cast had already met a few couples and the director has been approached by many more of the couples for thanking him for bringing some light on the social practice that is still prevalent in the Nothern states of India.

With unique characters, the makers took references from the popular Bahubalis of Bihar to get the nuances of the character right which the makers have captured in Sidharth’s character. A mix and match of different people’s characteristics were incorporated into Abhay Singh, a role that Sidharth has played with panache. On the other hand, Parineeti also took references from real-life incidents to get in character for her role as Babli Yadav or 'Babli Bomb' where she is fearless, strong, and independent and on occasion even a little rowdy when needed. To get into the mindset of a fierce girl who doesn't back down from a fight, Parineeti watched videos of girls beating up men to study the language and behaviour.

The upcoming romantic comedy, Jabariya Jodi, is set against the backdrop of Pakadwa Shaadi, a practice still seen in the states of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The comic take on the harsh reality will be an entertainer of the year. Produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, and Shailesh R Singh, Jabariya Jodi is a Balaji Telefilms and Karma Media & Entertainment production and releases on August 9, 2019.
