Watch: Neha Dhupia posts a breastfeeding video with daughter Mehr Dhupia Bedi, urges mothers to share their stories on ‘International Breastfeeding Week’

Neha Dhupia welcomed a baby girl last year along with husband Angad Bedi. The actress has since then successfully juggled between work and motherhood. In fact, she even worked through her pregnancy. Now the actress has launched a campaign, demanding that women should have the freedom to feed their babies through an Instagram video. She shared an adorably cute video featuring her daughter Mehr Dhupia Bedi where she can be seen feeding and playing with her daughter without showing her face to the camera.

Sharing the video on Instagram, Neha wrote, “#freedomtofeed - an initiative by Neha Dhupia Let’s start a conversation... as mothers we need #freedomtofeed ... #internationalbreastfeedingweek @freedomtofeed #ItsNotAnAd.” The video reveals the birth date of Mehr i.e ’18.11.18’ and goes on to show various glimpses of her nursery. In the video, Neha speaks about her roller coaster ride of being a mother. She talks about having sleepless nights, feeling like a mere food source and becoming an expert in making her baby burp. She goes on to talk about breastfeeding and stresses on the need for breastfeeding a baby for six months for her healthy growth and proper immunity to develop. She reveals that even after eight months, she continues to feed her baby and shares an incident where she traveled with Mehr alone on a flight. She announced to her co-passengers that she will be using the washroom for 15 minutes as she needed to feed her daughter.

Neha goes on to say that she doesn’t understand the hue-and-cry about breastfeeding in public and why do mothers need to be apologetic about it. She stressed on the fact that this is a pertinent issue and should be taken up and invited mothers to share their own breastfeeding stories amid the ongoing breastfeeding week.
