After making a successful career as one amongst India's finest rappers, Badshah is all set to feature in his first Bollywood film Khandaani Shafakhana. The rapper turned actor, of late, has been navigating across cities to promote his film and has a queue lined up for interviews. During one such interaction with an entertainment portal, Badshah opened up that Khandaani Shafakhana wasn't the first film offered to him. The rapper also spoke about zeroing down on the film as his debut vehicle and said around 2-3 years ago, he received acting roles in two of Karan Johar produced ventures namely Lust Stories and Good News. Badshah was offered Diljit Dosanjh's role in Good News and Vicky Kaushal's in Lust Stories. Considering such roles arriving at his footsteps, Badshah gave a nod to the Sonakshi Sinha starrer which was the third script of the same genre being offered to him.
"Coincidentally 2-3 saal pehle main Sonakshi ko hi phone kiya tha ki mere ko offers aa rahe hain main film karoon ya na karoon? Toh kehti, "Tu karle". Main kaha, "acting toh aati nahin?", she replied, "Tu seekh jayega chakkar nahin hai kuch." But, yeh mere saath bahut ajeeb si baat hui mere ko pehli jo film offer hui thi woh hui thi Lust Stories aur usmein Vicky Kaushal ka role offer hua tha. A guy who cannot satisfy his wife. Toh fir jab mujhe doosri offer hui, woh hui Good News jismein...ho nahin paata unse..sorry maine Good News ka plot de diya kya? (laughs). Toh teesri film (Khandaani Shafakhana) bhi aisi offer hui toh mujhe laga yaar meri kahin shakal pe toh nahin kuch. Toh maine kaha let me just do it and break the jinx," Badshah told.

Khandaani Shafakhana is about Babita 'Baby' Bedi, who has to run a fertility clinic, passed on to her by her late uncle. She will have to face many obstacles of this society that is conservative towards women. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Mahaveer Jain, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and Divya Khosla Kumar and is slated for release on August 2. The film apart from Badshah and Sonakshi stars Varun Sharma in a central role. Speaking about Good News, the film stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani and Diljit. It is directed by Raj Mehta and will release in December 2019.
