After Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra, Amitabh Bachchan jumps to Assam floods victim's aid, contributes Rs. 51 lakh to CM's Relief Fund

In an unfortunate situation in Assam caused due to floods, Bollywood celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra and several others extended their helping hand to bring the people troubled out of the near-death conditions. Joining the bandwagon, Amitabh Bachchan, on Tuesday lent his support to those in distress by contributing an amount of Rs. 51 lakh to Assam Chief Minister's Relief Fund. The actor, through his Twitter account, informed his followers about the kind deed and urged them to do their bit for the flood victims. 

"Assam is in distress .. the floods have caused great damage .. send care and assistance for our brothers and sisters .. contribute generously to the CM Relief Fund .. I just did .. HAVE YOU ..?," Amitabh wrote.

Acknowledging this help, the Assam Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal thanked the actor and wrote, "We appreciate Shri Amitabh Bachchan ji for contributing Rs. 51 lakh to Chief Minister's Relief Fund. This is a great gesture & show of care for the people. Thank you, on behalf of the people of Assam, for your support."

A while ago, Akshay did he bit by contributing 1cr each to the CM Relief Fund and for Kaziranga Park rescue and urged his fans to do so. "Absolutely heartbreaking to know about the devastation by floods in Assam.All affected, humans or animals, deserve support in this hour of crisis.I’d like to donate 1cr each to the CM Relief Fund & for Kaziranga Park rescue. Appealing to all to contribute," Akshay wrote. 

Speaking about Amitabh, the actor has never stepped back when it comes to assisting those in trouble. He, a while ago paid off the outstanding loans of 2,100 Bihar farmers.
