'I didn’t know there was a copyright on curly hair': Taapsee Pannu reacts to Rangoli Chandel's 'sasti copy' jibe on her

Rangoli Chandel recently hit out at Taapsee Pannu for not mentioning Kangana Ranaut's name while praising the trailer of JudgeMentall Hai Kya and went on to call her a "sasti copy" of her sister. Now in an interaction with a leading daily, Taapsee hit right back at her by saying that she cannot play nepotism card with her. Although many of her friends wanted to retaliate, Taapsee claimed to have stopped them from giving Ranaut sisters unnecessary "mileage". For the unversed, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who worked with Taapsee on Manmarziyaan, defended the actress after Rangoli's statements. Talking about it, Taapsee told the daily, "Not just Anurag, a few other close friends from the industry also wanted to retort, but I stopped them because I don’t want to give her any mileage on my behalf. She can’t play the nepotism card with me because I’ve also struggled to reach where I am today."

Further stating thst she not want to engage in a verbal spat with the Ranaut sisters since she would not be able to "match their language", Taapsee had a rather interesting take on Rangoli's "sasti copy" comment. "I didn’t know there was a copyright on curly hair, which I was born with, and honest opinions. I’m not going to apologise for it. As far as being “sasti” is concerned, Kangana claims to be the highest-paid actress, so I guess I am the 'sasti' version," she added.Taapsee went on to explain that she’d said that Kangana needs a “double filter” because both of them are opinionated. "I have often said Kangana’s an actor I look up to, my conscience is clear. It was weird to target me, that’s why it backfired," she signed off by saying.

On the work front, Taapsee will next be seen in Saand Ki Aankh and Mission Mangal.
