‘Media and actors have a deep bond, I hope the issue gets resolved soon’, says Akshay Kumar on the ongoing controversy between a Bollywood actress and the media industry

The trailer of Mission Mangal starring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari, Sharman Joshi and Nithya Menen was launched today at a gala event. During the trailer launch event, Akshay was asked about his views on the ongoing controversy between an acclaimed actress and the media fraternity. Akshay took a very diplomatic stand and said that he hopes the issue will be resolved soon and amicably.

Talking about the controversy where a leading actress had levied accusations against a journalist for writing negative stuff about her that prompted a ban on her by the Mumbai Press Club and the Press Club of India as well as the Entertainment Journalists Guild, Akshay said, “Media and ek actor mein gehra sambandh hai, miyan-biwi jaisa sambandh. I hope that it gets resolved soon kyunki hamein aapki bahut zaroorat hai. Main toh yehi samajhta hoon ki media ke through hi hum apni baatein keh sakte hain aur aapko vice versa. So I hope that it gets resolved waise mujhe iske bare mein zyada pata nahi hai, but I hope the issue gets resolved soon."
