Raveena Tandon feels 'sad' for Zaira Wasim as reports of her quitting Bollywood under pressure emerge, deletes her harsh tweet

Zaira Wasim, the Kashmiri girl who became famous overnight after her superb debut in Aamir Khan's Bollywood blockbuster Dangal on Sunday, took the enitre nation by a shock as she bid goodbye to her film career as she felt her relationship with her religion was threatened. Soon after Zaira's official statement about her "disassociation" from the field of acting, Raveena Tandonwho took an indirect jibe at her and said how "two film olds are ungrateful to the industry that have given them all." She wished they’d exit gracefully and "keep their regressive views to themselves."

However, with reports of Zaira quitting Bollywood under pressure emerging from every corners, Raveena says she feels "sad" about Zaira, if that's the case. "If this is true and the reason for her to quit,if she was or is under pressure, then I do feel sad for the girl.Was she forced into writing the long statement by radicals out of fear? She was a role model to so many youngsters with dreams and inspirations that they could achieve," she wrote in one of her tweets.

She further wished Zaira "luck and strength" and mentioned that she regrets her first immediate tweet after reading Zaira's statement. "Maybe she was forced to write what was unacceptable to people like me who love films,cinema,the industry, that I was born into.Deleting the tweet that now sounds harsh," Raveena tweeted.

Meanwhile, Zaira Wasim on Monday shot down rumours that her social media accounts were hacked when she announced her decision to quit the world of showbiz. On the work front, Zaira will next be seen in The Sky Is Pink, co-starrring Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar.
