It's almost close to a month since Ananya Panday made her entry into Bollywood with Student Of The Year 2. However, the Karan Johar-produced film received a lukewarm response at the box-office but Ananya's portrayal of Shreya won appreciation from the who's who of Bollywood including her best friend Suhana Khan's superstar father Shah Rukh Khan. When the 20-year old can receive a compliment from the rest of the fraternity, how can her friends Suhana and Shanaya Kapoor stay away? Ananya, while giving her interview to a leading daily said although she wanted to watch the film with her friends. Unfortunately, due to prior commitments, they couldn't watch it with her. But in the end, she was happy that they managed to watch it in the theatres.
"They were so excited. They were so so so excited. Unfortunately, both of them weren't in town when my film released and that was really sad for me because I wanted them with me, but they both obviously saw it. And trailers, links everything they just keep sending it on the group, showing their friends, I think it's just such a great feeling. Shanaya was actually in Lucknow, she watched it in Lucknow, took a bunch of people to watch it. And Suhana just got back from London. So, she also just watched it," Ananya told.

Ananya, Suhana and Shanaya are childhood friends and aspire to make a career in films. Ananya is the first amongst the three to make her debut in Bollywood. Shanaya is currently an assistant director on her cousin Janhvi Kapoor's Gunjan Saxena biopic while Suhana is yet to complete her education from London.
Workwise, Ananya is cast in the remake of Pati, Patni Aur Woh with Kartik Aaryan and Bhumi Pednekar.
